I'm getting bummed waiting for G and/or AC ... just like the character in the novel I'm working on.
Anyhooooo ... the main character in my book is a plein air painter. At the moment he's trying to figure out how to best paint a night ocean scene that features long black swells catching moonlight just before they break. He has just - and I mean moments ago - figured out that his normal technique is not going to work.
Suddenly, he thinks: "VELVET!"
And neither he nor I (nor Google, Wikipedia etc. etc.) have a clue of how velvet painting is done. What kind velvet? what kind of paint? what techniques?
